The path to PACT

Community Engagement Highlights

From March 2025 to August 2025, the Sunnynook Catchment Working Group in partnership with Community Think facilitated a community engagement process focused on the future of the Sunnynook catchment.

This process brought together locals to explore shared concerns, priorities, and possibilities for the catchment. It was a chance to listen, learn, and think together about what matters most in their community.

Neighbourhood Share and Connect

On Sunday, 9 March, the Sunnynook Community Centre was transformed into a Neighbourhood Share and Connect event where people came together to learn skills, connect and share their ideas about the future of Sunnynook, Tōtara Vale and Forrest Hill.

Group activity sheets

One of the ways that people got involved was through an activity sheet where we asked locals to prioritise the ideas they liked most and how they wanted to spend the allocated funds, watch this video to see how it worked!

Community Dinner

On Sunday, 22 June, the Sunnynook Community Centre invited people from Sunnynook, Tōtara Vale and Forrest Hill to come together for some delicious food and to share their ideas about recovery in Sunnynook, Tōtara Vale and Forrest Hill.
